Market Outlook: Indian equities witnessed broad-based selling on 28 September, with Nifty 50 declining 1.56% to 22,780 and Sensex falling 1.52% to 72,772. Market breadth remained weak, with 869 advances against 2,716 declines on NSE and 1,271 advances versus 3,218 declines on BSE. Global cues also remained negative, with the S&P 500 down 0.77%, Dow Jones down 0.67% and Nasdaq 100 down 1.08%, while Gift Nifty indicated a marginally negative opening. India VIX rose 13.10% to 14, reflecting higher near-term volatility.
FII & DII Activity: Foreign selling intensified, with FIIs/FPI selling Rs 5,353.2 crore on 28 September, while DIIs bought Rs 5,189.0 crore. FII selling remained a key market overhang, with the report noting that FIIs have been net sellers in 14 of 19 sessions during September. Domestic institutional buying provided an offset but was not sufficient to prevent the broader market decline.
Sector Activity: All major sectoral indices closed lower. PSU Banks were the weakest, declining 3.24%, followed by Energy (-2.00%), Oil & Gas (-1.86%), PSE (-1.91%), Metal (-1.78%), Financial Services (-1.69%) and Auto (-1.64%). IT was relatively less impacted at -0.26%, while Consumer Durables declined 0.30% and Healthcare fell 0.85%.
F&O Activity: Long build-up was seen in Blue Star, Premier Energies, Laurus Labs, LTIMindtree and IREDA, while short build-up was visible in Force Motors, Godfrey Phillips, ICICI Bank, Bharat Dynamics and RVNL. Long unwinding was recorded in Astral, Max Financial Services, KFin Technologies, Angel One and Swiggy. Short covering was observed in Kaynes Technology, LIC Housing Finance, OFSS, Voltas and Petronet.

Kalpataru Projects International: Received a letter of award for a gas pipeline EPC project in the UAE with an estimated contract value of over Rs 4,000 crore, adding an international gas-infrastructure project to its order book.
Dilip Buildcon: Emerged as L1 bidder for a Rs 1,151.47 crore 400-kV AIS transmission project at Yavatmal and was also declared L1 for NHAI’s Rs 688.23 crore Solapur elevated corridor. The two projects have a combined quoted value of Rs 1,839.70 crore; L1 status precedes final contract award.
Man Infraconstruction: Announced a partnership with Godrej Properties for its Marine Lines, Mumbai project, with potential project revenue indicated at over Rs 6,000 crore. The company also expects recovery of over Rs 300 crore of investment through the arrangement; the Rs 6,000 crore represents projected project revenue rather than revenue already booked.
NCC: Received a Rs 1,076.71 crore order for the Anakapalli drinking-water supply project in Andhra Pradesh, with a stipulated execution period of 24 months.
Anupam Rasayan India: Completed the acquisition of a 48.2% stake in Bliss GVS Pharma at Rs 299 per share. A separate acquisition update puts its holding at 50.07% following an additional purchase of approximately Rs162.74 crore, giving Anupam Rasayan a controlling stake in the pharmaceutical company.
