Market Outlook

On the day of the weekly expiry, the Indian market witnessed a subdued trading session. The Nifty 50 index opened with a gap-up but failed to sustain at higher levels, as persistent selling pressure dragged the index lower. The Nifty retested the 24,400 mark before settling the session with a decline of 0.64%. On the derivative front, the next weekly expiry OI data indicates fresh call writing at the 24,800 strike, making it the immediate upside hurdle, while the 25,000 strike continues to remain a strong resistance zone. On the downside, significant put OI accumulation at the 24,500 and 24,400 strikes suggests these levels are likely to provide immediate support.
