Change in dates for second phase of state poll will lead to higher voting, says AAP Leader Sanjeev Jha
Aam Aadmi Party Chhattisgarh Incharge Sanjeev Jha stated on October 19 that AAP's demand to change the dates for the second round of polling for the Chhattisgarh Assembly election has been made in view of the Chhath Festival. Jha stated that Chhattisgarh's population comprises a large number of people from north India who will be heading back home to celebrate Chatt Pooja, leading to lower voting participation during elections. Sanjeev Jha, AAP Chhattisgarh Incharge, said, "We've written to the Election Commission and requested to change the polling date for the second phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly election from November 17 to 25, as during that time the voting participation will be low due to Chhath puja."
