Bank of India Celebrates 121st Foundation Day, Reaffirms Commitment to Viksit Bharat
Reaffirms its commitment to customer-centric banking, technology-led innovation, financial inclusion and India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat
Bank of India celebrated its 121st Foundation Day, commemorating more than 12 decades of trust, service and contribution to India’s economic progress. The celebrations were held across the Bank’s nationwide network, bringing together employees, customers, former staff members, pensioners and other stakeholders.
Established on September 7, 1906, with a single branch and a small team of employees, Bank of India has grown into one of India’s leading public sector banks with a global presence. Today, the Bank has approximately 37,000 customer touchpoints and a workforce of over 52,000 employees, serving customers across major cities as well as its remotest villages of the country.
The Bank has also achieved significant business milestones. During Q1 FY27, its Total Global Business crossed Rs 17.50 lakh crore. In FY26, Bank of India surpassed the milestone of Rs10,000 crore in annual net profit, reflecting the strength of its business, expanding reach and continued focus on sustainable growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajneesh Karnatak, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Bank of India, said, “As we celebrate our 121st Foundation Day, we also celebrate the legacy of an institution that has always been an integral part of India’s growth story. Together, we are writing the next chapter of Bank of India’s journey, rooted in trust, strengthened by our people, powered by technology and aligned with the aspirations of a Viksit Bharat.”
He added, “On this occasion, we renew our commitment to placing customers first and upholding integrity and excellence in everything we do. We are grateful to generations of customers for giving us the opportunity to serve them. We also acknowledge the continued guidance of the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and our regulators, as well as the contributions of our former employees, vendors and channel partners. As we move forward, we will continue striving to exceed stakeholder expectations and truly live up to our promise of ‘Relationship Beyond Banking'
