Bajaj Healthcare jumps on getting DCGI approval to manufacture, market Cenobamate API, Tablets

Bajaj Healthcare is currently trading at Rs. 334.90, up by 7.25 points or 2.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 327.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 325.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 341.00 and Rs. 325.05 respectively. So far 8173 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 516.20 on 25-Sep-2025 and a 52 week low of Rs. 272.45 on 18-May-2026.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 341.00 and Rs. 325.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1127.36 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.59%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 4.11% and 37.30% respectively.

Bajaj Healthcare has received approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) under the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) to manufacture and market Cenobamate API and Cenobamate Tablets in strengths of 12.5 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg and 200 mg.

With this regulatory approval, Bajaj Healthcare becomes the first company to launch Cenobamate in India, marking a significant milestone in the company's journey towards bringing advanced therapies to patients and further strengthening its presence in the Central Nervous System (CNS) segment.

The approval follows the recommendation of the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) for grant of approval for the manufacture and marketing of Cenobamate Tablets, as previously communicated by the Company through its press release dated 26th June 2026.

Cenobamate is a next-generation antiseizure medication indicated for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in adults. Clinical studies have demonstrated significant seizure reduction and high seizure-freedom rates in patients with inadequately controlled epilepsy, supporting its potential as an important treatment option in the evolving landscape of epilepsy care.
