Allied Blenders and Distillers has commenced commercial operations at its malt distillery at Rangapur, Telangana. The facility has an approved manufacturing capacity of around 4.4 million BL per annum. The greenfield facility marks a key step in expanding the company’s domestic production footprint and vertically integrating its core supply chain.
The facility will enable the company to manufacture malt spirit in-house, giving the company greater control over the important input used in its whisky portfolio. This will help ensure consistent quality and provide a steady, dependable supply of malt spirit as production scales up. Along with meeting the company’s internal needs, the distillery will drive new product development and maturation. Crucially, it allows the company to begin laying down malt spirit to craft its own homegrown single malt whisky in the coming years and support its growing Prestige & Above portfolio.
