Sectors like energy, IT and metal are now trying to catch up with the other key sectors, adding to positivity - Religare Broking

Nifty

* Nifty started the week on a firm note and settled with a gain of nearly half a percent.

* Metal, energy and IT posted strong gains while defensive viz. pharma and FMCG traded dull.

* Sectors like energy, IT and metal are now trying to catch up with the other key sectors, adding to positivity.

* Expect some consolidation now but tone is likely to remain positive. Eyeing 18,350 levels.

 

Bank nifty

* Bank nifty traded in a narrow range and ended marginally higher, in continuation to the trend.

* Among the constituents, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and IDFC First Bank ended higher while Sbi and Kotak Bank traded subdued.

* Consolidation likely in line with the benchmark. Hurdle around 43500-43600 zone.

* Maintain focus on accumulating performing counters on dips.
