Below are Technical Quote On Today`s Market Performance by Mr. Deepak Jasani, Technical Research Analyst, HDFC Securities

Indian benchmark equity indices were volatile on March 22 ending little changed. Nifty recovered from early morning weakness after making an intraday low at 1320 Hrs. At close the Nifty 50 index ended 8 points lower at 14,736.

Volumes on the NSE were lower than recent average. Among sectors, Realty, IT, FMCG, Pharma gained the most, while Bank, Media fell the most.

Asian markets were mixed after sentiments were shaken by the U.S. Federal Reserve’s announcement that it would end some emergency measures put in place last year to help the financial industry deal with the pandemic.

A plunge in the Turkish lira also did not help matters. European stocks on Monday were weighed down by a slump in Turkey’s currency and worries about more restrictions due to rising coronavirus cases in the continent.

Nifty has closed almost at the intraday high. A sustained breach of 14764 on the upside could result in some more upside momentum of about 100 Nifty points. Positive advance decline ratio is also encouraging.
