Standard Chartered, IATA tie up forh payment platform for airline industry

Global banking group Standard Chartered on Thursday said it has partnered with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to launch a payment platform for airline industry in India.

In addition to existing payment options such as credit cards, IATA Pay will be a new payment option that enables participating airlines to offer instant payment options such as UPI Scan and Pay and UPI Collect (Request to Pay), Standard Chartered said in a statement.

IndiGo to start flights between Kadapa in AP and five cities from Mar 27

IndiGo on Thursday said it will start flights connecting Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh to five cities in southern India from March 27 onwards.

"The airline will commence new exclusive flights between Kadapa-Chennai, Kadapa-Vijayawada, Kadapa-Bangalore, Kadapa-Vishakhapatnam,

Kadapa will be the 73rd city in the country to be connected with IndiGo flights, it noted.

 

Hindustan Unilever separates position of Chairman and CEO & MD

FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (HUL) has separated the position of chairman of the board and the chief executive officer & managing director (CEO & MD), which will come into effect from March 31.

The FMCG major has announced the appointment of Nitin Paranjpe, currently chief operating officer of Unilever as the non-executive chairman of the company and Sanjiv Mehta will continue as CEO & MD.

 

IKEA India appoints Susanne Pulverer as its first woman CEO, CSO

Swedish home furnishings retailer IKEA (part of Ingka Group) on Thursday announced the appointment of Susanne Pulverer as its new and first woman Chief Executive Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer, for its India business.

Pulverer, an experienced IKEA leader, takes over from the outgoing India CEO Peter Betzel, who will move on to his next assignment within the IKEA Group, the company said in a statement.

 

Indian Oil Corp buys first Russian Urals crude in 2 years as prices slump

Indian Oil Corp, the country's top refiner, has bought Russian Urals crude for the first time in two years, after spot differentials slumped, according to trade sources and Refinitiv data.

The opportunity for India to buy more of the Russian flagship grade that typically heads to Europe arose after its discount to global benchmark Brent fell to the widest since 2005, hit by rising tensions between Russia and the West over Ukraine
