India`s January gasoil sales down 2.3% year-on-year, gasoline up 5.9% - prelim data
NEW DELHI - Indian state retailers' local sales of gasoil in January declined by 2.3% from a year earlier to 6.04 million tonnes, preliminary sales data compiled by state refiners showed Tuesday.
Gasoline sales by the three state fuel retailers rose by 5.9% to 2.36 million tonnes last month, the data showed.
State companies Indian Oil Corp, Hindustan Petroleum Corp and Bharat Petroleum own about 90% of India's retail fuel outlets.
