Indian banks' loans rose 6.5% in two weeks to March 12- RBI
BENGALURU - Indian banks' loans rose 6.5% in the two weeks to March 12 from a year earlier, while deposits rose 12.1%, the Reserve Bank of India's weekly statistical supplement showed on Friday.
Outstanding loans rose 237.46 billion Indian rupees ($3.27 billion) to 107.98 trillion rupees in the period.
Non-food credit rose 297.59 billion rupees to 107.29 trillion rupees, while food credit fell 60.14 billion rupees to 691.92 billion rupees. (https://bit.ly/3suFyJG)
Bank deposits rose 222.10 billion rupees to 149.56 trillion rupees.
