PHDCCI, today at its headquarters conducted a conference titled, “Digital Health Revolution: Transforming Healthcare Delivery.”

Speaking at the event, Shri S. Gopalakrishnan (IAS), CEO, National Health Authority, Govt. of India, deliberated on importance of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and ABHA ID in harnessing the power of technology in Healthcare while enabling an overall seamless and comprehensive Healthcare system.

Speaking further, he added, "ABHA number" is nothing but a derivative of your Aadhaar number, and just to work around the legal usage of Aadhaar, we call it ABHA. It allows for efficient management of healthcare information, enabling healthcare professionals to make more informed decisions about patient care.

The ID empowers citizens by providing them with a portable and universally recognized identification that can be used across various healthcare settings. Further, It facilitates the exchange of healthcare data securely and efficiently while also reducing duplication of tests and treatments. This not only enhances patient safety but also streamlines the overall healthcare operations, Shri S. Gopalakrishnan concluded.

Shri Satyan Rajamani, Chairman, CRT Telehealth informed, the key factors that are missing in regional rural areas are accessibility, affordability, and the availability of digital healthcare services. Primary healthcare addresses the broader determinants of health and focuses on comprehensive and interrelated aspects of social, physical, psychological, and well-being for regional, rural, and remote India. 

Digital healthcare solutions are transforming the way we access and deliver medical care. From telemedicine to remote patient monitoring, our digital health solutions have enabled patients to receive high-quality healthcare remotely, he added. 

Shri. Girish Krishnamurthy, Managing Director & CEO, TATA Medical & Diagnostics Ltd., said, the impact of the bridgital healthcare model on primary and secondary care is remarkable. More than 2.7 billion citizens have been on-boarded on the digital platform through Known Citizens Drive (KCD) and about 1 million virtual care services have been delivered for continuous, proactive, and closer to home care.

Dr. Deep Goel, Chair, Hospital, Diagnostics & Wellness committee, PHDCCI in his welcome address, appreciated the esteemed Guests, panelists and experts  for sharing their invaluable insights and expertise, which have provided a deeper understanding of the digital health revolution and its potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery.

He added,  the digital health revolution holds immense promise, and with the continued support, collaboration, and innovation, we can reshape healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and create a brighter and healthier future for all.

Atantatra Das Gupta, Co-Chair, Medical Devices Committee, PHDCCI  mentioned, the revolution in healthcare with digitization, coupled with a patient-centric approach, has brought in a new era of healthcare delivery. However, it is equally essential to address the challenges associated with data security and privacy.

Mr. Atantatra also informed, the revenue of digital health is projected to reach US $12.2 billion in 2023. The annual growth rate cadre from 2023 to 2027 is envisaged at US $20.40 billion, resulting in project market growth of US $25.6 billion by 2027. The largest segment of the market will be digital fitness and well-being. 

Col. Saurabh Sanyal, CEO & Secretary General, PHDCCI  while extending his vote of thanks, acknowledged everyone present at the event for making the session full of awareness and hope the participants to take back with them something beneficial and fruitful.
