``The Discipline Behind the Distribution``: HPCL Strengthens Vigilance as Supply Scales Nationwide

As LPG demand continues to rise across the country, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is reinforcing a critical pillar behind its large-scale operations—discipline in distribution. Through a robust vigilance framework, the company is ensuring that every cylinder reaches the rightful consumer, maintaining fairness, transparency, and system integrity.

Between April 1 and April 29, 2026, HPCL delivered 362 lakh LPG cylinders nationwide, including 12.7 lakh cylinders on April 29 alone, demonstrating the strength of its supply network even under sustained demand pressure. Supporting this scale, the company dispatched 2,16,507 tankers, including 9,522 tankers on a single day, ensuring seamless movement across bottling plants and distributor networks.

Complementing LPG operations, HPCL recorded 12,02,694 KL of Motor Spirit (MS) and 20,78,756 KL of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) sales during the same period, including 44,785 KL of MS and 73,181 KL of HSD on April 29—reflecting overall supply stability across energy segments.

At the heart of this large-scale operation lies a stringent vigilance mechanism. Between March 14 and April 29, 2026, HPCL conducted 6,217 inspections across its LPG distribution network to ensure adherence to operational and safety standards.

As part of its enforcement drive, the company initiated 173 actions against distributors, including 34 suspensions, sending a clear message of zero tolerance towards malpractices. Additionally, 664 raids were carried out across regions, leading to the registration of 44 FIRs and the seizure of 4,155 LPG cylinders.

These actions are aimed at eliminating irregularities such as diversion, hoarding, and unauthorized sale—ensuring that LPG supply remains accessible, fair, and consumer-first.

HPCL has also strengthened accessibility through its digital ecosystem, with 99.3% of LPG bookings now being made online, enabling real-time tracking, faster processing, and improved transparency across the supply chain.

In parallel, the company continues to expand inclusive energy access, recording sales of 7,68,892 units of 5 kg cylinders and 26,916 units of 2 kg cylinders—supporting migrant workers, small vendors, and low-income households with flexible and affordable fuel options.

This combination of scale and strict enforcement ensures that HPCL’s distribution network remains not just efficient, but also accountable and resilient.

HPCL reiterated its commitment to maintaining a supply chain that is disciplined, transparent, and consumer-centric, ensuring that every cylinder delivered is backed by trust, safety, and operational integrity.
