JIMS Rohini organised “HR NexGen Summit 2025” in association with PHDCCI at PHD House, New Delhi. The summit started with a meaningful introduction about how People, Purpose, and Performance shape modern organisations. It was designed as a space where senior HR leaders, Industry experts and management students could learn from each other. The event opened with a welcome note by Dr. Pooja Jain, Director of Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Rohini who spoke about the institute’s mission to create learning environments that connect academic knowledge with real industry needs.
The Inaugural speakers opened the summit with observations rooted in lived industry experience. Mr. Anil Ghoshal, Director-HR, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry spoke about how an organisation’s values must be reflected in its daily conduct and how this consistency shapes its credibility. As Chief Guest, Mr. Yogesh Munjal, Chairman & Managing Director, Munjal Showa Ltd described the growth journey of Munjal Showa Ltd and highlighted how steady collaboration and dependable workplace relationships have helped the company sustain its momentum. The Guest of Honour, Mr. Dharm Rakshit, Head HR, Hero Motocorp drew attention to the practical difference between reacting and responding and explained why the ability to learn quickly has become essential in today’s work environment. The Special Guest Mr. Satya Jha, Partner, Chief Business Officer, GT Bharat provided a clear view of emerging skill gaps, particularly in data literacy, digital awareness and trust-building and highlighted the growing need for professionals who can adapt with both speed and judgment.
The first session brought the discussion to the realities of skill readiness. The conversation moved from the discipline of clear thinking to the need for using technology with intent, strengthened by insights from Mr. Harsh Raj Jain, Acquisition Head APAC & Americas & India Campus Head, Ebix. Workplace instances shared by Mr. Atish Bhattacharya, Head HR, Somany Ceramics Ltd reiterated how adaptability and people's understanding continue to influence early career success. Dr. Amit Pareenja Head-L& OD, Somany Impresa Group added perspective by demonstrating how simple shifts in thinking guide workplace decisions, while Mr. Rajesh Popli, Assistant Director, Human Resources EY highlighted the rising expectation for young professionals to be data-aware and digitally comfortable. Collectively, the panel underscored that confidence, flexibility and reduced hesitation remain essential for matching industry pace.
The second session moved the narrative toward trust, behaviour and organisational preparedness. Ms. Sudhi Chaudhry, Solution Design Head - HRO , Wipro outlined the shift toward more human-centred leadership and the responsibility leaders hold in shaping inclusive cultures. Building on this, Mr. Amit Sharma, Head HR , Greystar addressed uncertainties around remote work, job transitions and rapid technological shifts emphasising the shared nature of trust. Mr. Amit Mathur, Assistant Vice President Human Resources, Infinity Labs India pointed to the widening gap between technological change and organisational response, encouraging students to hold on to purpose and continuous learning. The session concluded with reflections from Mr. Rahul Sachdeva, Senior Manager - Corporate HR, Kajaria Ceramics Limited on unlearning, collaboration and active engagement with organisational systems, offering a cohesive view of how workplaces are evolving.
The summit became lively with a skit performance by students of HR Club-Samanvay, depicting evolution of HR from industrial era to AI era, with a strong message to humanise workplaces, it was well appreciated by the audience.
The summit closed with an experiential activity conducted by Mr. Sahil Nayar, TEDx Speaker and HR Leader recognised for his work on workplace culture and behavioural understanding. He invited participants to form complete decks of playing cards without speaking, ensuring that no one remained without a card. As the room moved in all directions, different approaches emerged, revealing simple yet lasting lessons about collaboration, clarity and the realities of working with diverse teams.
HR NexGen Summit 2025 provided a coherent, practice-focused understanding of the priorities shaping the future of work. It offered students valuable exposure to real organisational thinking and encouraged them to engage with their careers with purpose, adaptability and an informed perspective
