The Indian rupee ended tad lower, paring early gains, against the greenback on Monday on fresh bouts of dollar demand from importers and banks, while foreign fund outflows too weighed on the local currency movement. The rupee belled the day in positive terrain at 67.07 from yesterday's closing level at 67.26 per dollar at the interbank foreign exchange here. The domestic unit witnessed volatility and touched an intra-day high and low of 67.32 and 67.02 during the deals so far.
The local currency was currently trading at 67.30, down 04 paise, at 16:45 hours. Adding to it, weak trend across the domestic equity market also dented sentiment at local forex market. The 30-share benchmark index closed trade at 35227.26, down by 95.12 points or by 0.27 per cent, and the NSE Nifty ended at 10628.5, down by 67.7 points or by 0.63 per cent.
