Nickel futures were trading lower during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Monday as speculators trimmed their positions amid low demand at the spot market. Market analysts said trimming of positions by participants following a weak trend in base metals mainly led to fall in nickel prices here. At the MCX, nickel futures for August 2019 contract is trading at Rs 1131.80 per kg, down by 0.60 per cent, after opening at Rs 1138.00, against a previous close of Rs 1138.60. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 1126.50 (at 15: 47 hours).
