New York (USA): Amid Russia-Ukraine war, US State Secretary Antony Blinken on May 19 (IST), while chairing the 'Global Food Security Call to Action' ministerial meeting at the United Nations, announced a financial aid of 215 million dollars for emergency food assistance in the war-torn country. “The US has announced more than 2.3 billion dollars for emergency food assistance to meet global humanitarian needs since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Today given the urgency of the crisis, we're announcing another $215 million in new emergency food assistance,” he said.
