Maruti Suzuki reported a good set of monthly wholesales numbers for April 2021 despite the second Covid crisis. Total sales for the month of Apr’21 stood at 1,59,961 units as compared to sales of 632 units in Apr’20 when production was impacted due to the nationwide lockdowns imposed by the central Government. Domestic sales stood for Apr’21 stood at 1,42,454 units while exports sales stood at 17,237 units. The mini and compact segment registered sales of 25041 units and 72318 units respectively while the mid level segment continued to struggle and registered sales of 1567 units. Overall the numbers are encouraging and point to relatively lower level of disruptions in the supply chains in spite of the second Covid wave.
