Ashok Leyland reported monthly wholesales numbers of 7,961 units for Apr’21 as compared to zero sales in Apr’20 when production was impacted due to the nationwide lockdowns imposed by the central Government. The MHCV segment reported sales of 3,983 units while the LCV segment reported sales of 3,978 units. Overall the numbers are encouraging and point to relatively lower levels of disruptions in the supply chains in spite of the second Covid wave. We continue to remain positive on Ashok Leyland as we expect demand and production to rebound once the worst of the second Covid wave is over and the economy is gradually opened up. We expect demand rebound to be led by tippers and tractor trailers due to the Government's thrust on Infrastructure and housing while LCV's and ICV's are also likely to witness robust demand
