Tata Motors up over 2% on robust global sales
Shares of Tata Motors rose over 2 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company’s UK subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), reported 6.5 per cent growth in global sales to a record 6,21,109 units in 2017. Boosted by strong sales, stocks of the auto major gained as much 2.27 per cent and touched an intra-day high of Rs 443.55 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
In a similar fashion, shares of the firm were trading 1.61 per cent higher at Rs 440.55 apiece on the National Stock Exchange. Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 34,450.36, up 97.58 points, or 0.28 per cent, at 11:25 hours.
